BACKGROUND

Grande Asset Hotels and Property Public Company Limited, was previously known as Grande Asset Development Public Company Limited. The major shareholders include Giant Mauritius Holdings, Hotel and Property Development Co., Ltd and Narula Family Group. The company was granted authorization by The Stock Exchange of Thailand to be listed as a public company limited in the hotel and hospitality service category. The Initial Public Offering (IPO) was sold to the general public on 22-26 January 2004, with the 150 million shares of the IPO fetching Baht 4.85 each, trading on The Stock Exchange of Thailand commenced on 10 February 2004. Present registered capital and paid capital is Baht 1,251.2 Million, comprising 1,251.2 million ordinary shares with par value of 1 Baht per share.

With the key aim to expand its investments, both for the long and short term, Grande has set clear objectives and strategies for implementation includes.

Hotel performance in 2007 was boosted by the opening in mid-August of the Sheraton Hua Hin Resort and Spa. With its opening, the adjoining Hua Hin Blue Lagoon condominium and villa development became complete and prospects for selling the remaining unsold units has improved.

Set aside the opening of the Sheraton, hotel performance was adversely affected by the unstable political situation and security issues, which discouraged corporate individual and group travel and also impacted tourist arrivals.

August 2007 also saw the substantial completion of the Trendy mixed use (residential, retail and office) development and the start of transferring of sold units.

The sale of unsold units both at the Regent Residences and the Sails Pattaya were suspended due to the soft market conditions and the slow construction progress. It is expected that both projects will be re-launched at prices ranging from 15 to 20% higher than last realized sales in 2008. Like Hua Hin, both projects are combined with internationally branded luxury hotels that are expected to substantially increase the value of the condominium units in real and lifestyle terms.
